Recently replaced the chrome cap with an illuminated 12-LED lamp from Harbor Freight. With a coupon, it came in right around $7.00 with tax. It operates like a 3rd brake light as it's wired in to the Curt lighting harness. It also has a nice soft diode glow at night to boot. Wiring is easy to conceal as the Prius has a removable cap inside, just below the trunk lid. It's the right diameter for the harness plug to go right through. Makes the TorkLift 2" receiver look a lot more handsome than with the old chrome end cap. There are nicer versions out there, but none cheaper.
No, our mirrorless new Sony Nex-3NL is too fresh out-of-the-box yet to scope out a night shot. Will do though ASAP...
tplife I looked at your hitch, you have 2' or 1.25' hitch?, If it is 2' where did you get from, name and how much? V/r Khoi Nguyen
He said it is a 2" Torklift. See the link in this post: any 2" receiver hitches out there? While the base link goes to a GenII product, from there you can reach the whole product line.
Yes, it's a TorkLift EcoHitch. Not cheap, but totally concealed, no horizontal bar to catch things underneath, highest quality, IMHO worth the extra money. Class I (yadda yadda Warden) with a 2" receiver. Curt wiring harness to provide lighting plug, and Firestone RideRite air bags to keep the rear level.
