Hey everyone, Drove my Prius 4 today for the first time, took the family to Queens, NY for the Makerfaire. It was about 50 miles from our house. Had a great time, really enjoyed the drive. Everyone was super comfortable. First impressions I have to say that the seating was great, the drivability was pretty good. I felt a bit far from the dash which I'm not used to. Also I thought it was odd to just have one USB port, and I HAD to plug-in my iPhone in order to use it? What's up with that. The navigation and interactive controls on the touch screen we're the worst I've ever experienced. We just gave up after an hour of messing with it (including travel time both ways.) I'm looking forward to saving money on gas, that's for sure! It's going to be my wife's car as I'm going to be driving our 2012 Highlander to and from the train station (15 miles round-trip.) The reason I've joined these forums is to gain some insight/knowledge about making that navigation system more user friendly via hacking or replacing it entirely.
Your owner's manual should tell you how to hook up your phone using Bluetooth. Your first impression of the Toyota Nav system is, unfortunately, correct. There are some good threads on replacements here Gen III 2010+ Prius Audio and Electronics | PriusChat
