Has anyone installed an aftermarket backup proximity warning? One thing the nav falls short on with the prius is there is not the red/yellow/green warning bars on the back up camera, which is a bit of a bummer as it seems common now on many new cars.
This was posted in another thread, but I am not sure if its a easy drop in replacement or not. Sony CCD Car Rear View Backup Camera for Toyota Prius 2012 with Guide Line | eBay
Interesting.....I wonder if this would work for the 2013 Prius...i know GEN 3 is GEN 3 but I am finding some things do not work for my model, for example the shark fin antenna, but thats because I have solar
Dude, get a green sharpie, draw a line, get a yellow sharpie, draw another line, get a third red sharpie, draw another line, on the nav screen. Problem solved. SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 ? 2
You mean camera not fitting or wiring? It's aftermarket so you'll need to work with it. It's not a drop in like a factory part.
I have installed my wife 2013 Prius aftermarket Parking Sensors, She needed & loves it (new lic.) when parking in the streets of San Francisco. The good thing is the Prius front & rear bumpers is pre-marked where the sensors being install. If you don't like the bumper being drilled, then try those Back-up sensor License plate mount ones from Amazon.com.
I have parking sensors installed in my car front and rear. Came from the first owner (they say genuine Toyota accessory but they get their's from a Taiwanese company) and I think they are great as I don't stare at the screen reversing. For the times I look at the side mirrors backing into a spot, the sensors give me an additional warning. I'd say if you want it, install it. If you think you're a hero and don't need it, then don't fit one. There's no wrong or rights about them and no point slagging someone for fitting them. It's their car, let them do whatever the hell they want.
