I've seen the green stickers slapped on the bumpers in many different ways. Some slap it all around the car, all four stickers and I've also seen people put one sticker right on the back. Just wondering a few things: Where exactly do they need to be placed on the car? Is there a less ugly method i.e. on the back windshield or somewhere lower on the bumper or something?
The stickers do come with exact instructions on how and where to place it. Cops know exactly where to look. I personally wouldn't put it elsewhere and risk getting pulled over making my commute longer and negating carpool.
You must place them on the vehicle according to where DMV in CA says they must be placed: CAV Decal Placement 23. Q: Where do I place the CAV decals on the vehicle? A: CAV decal placement: IMPORTANT: Compare the CAV decal number with the number shown on the CAV decal ID card before affixing theCAV decals to your vehicle. If they do not match, contact DMV at 1-800-777-0133. Carefully peel CAV decals from the backing material and apply as follows: Large Decals— Place on the rear quarter panels, one on each side of the vehicle, behind the wheel wells, with the state seal pointed up on the bottom of the decal. Small Decals— For white decals, place on the right side of the rear bumper only, with the state seal pointed up on the bottom of the decal. For green decals, place on the right side of each bumper, front and rear, with the state seal pointed up on the bottom of the decal. WARNING: Do not attempt to remove or reposition CAV decals after application. Doing so will result in the destruction of the decals. They are ugly...I only put one on the car - right rear quarter panel behind the wheel. Have not been pulled over...yet.... Paradox - see you have a 2013 Volt also - just picked one up. Very happy with the car and the range. So far 700 miles and only 1.5 gal of gas....
Those instructions are pretty explicit. You have to put then on ugly locations. I put them on the lowest point of the car as possible. iPhone ? - now Free
I think that the least ugly method is to buy the PIP in sea glass pearl, which is the closest color match.
