JMR - I have a black as well just got it. Its a 2014 Prius package 5 would be able to get me one of those too? I am in the process of doing some mods as well.​

 

I have everything in place and I'm ready to connect the wires. Cannot get the light to come on. I've tried every combination including grounding to the car. What am I missing here?

 

I'm curious if anyone has completed the brake light version of this mod. If so I would love to see how if came out. I just ordered some inverters and el wire with one dual intensity circuit.

This is just a little bit too big. And the mounting tabs for the emblem would need to pass through three of the LEDs.
I suggest avoiding any listing that looks like this:

No. they were replaced back to stock along time ago.... The inverters never seem to last more then a few months.

Although it looks somewhat orange to me, they're advertising it as a RED or Blue LED background.
I guess you'd have to cut the mounting tabs off your emblem and get creative with the mounting solution.

 

The el wire that I purchased that is sold as 'fire red' does appear very orange to me as well. The pictures appeared red however I do not see it. My inverters have not arrived so I have not been able to energize it, I have my fingers crossed that it will appear red.

 

Hi there. I came across your pics when I was searching for a Hyudai Palisade illumiated rear emblem. Can you please tell me what diameter EL wire you used? Also how what kind of wiring did you do to dire to the brake/license plate light? I've never done this so not sure what wires to buy. I want to do white or blue EL wired to the license plate and red wired to the brake light, so when i hit the brakes it turns red . Any assistance would be most appreciated. From your pics I can't see how to install the black/red wires for the car lights. Thanks!!!!!
