    Let me ask this then- is there a compilation of the Torque logs from other 2nd Gen Prius owners (specifically 2007), preferably with normal running Prii, with which I can compare my own logs? Using such other logs would enable me to perhaps see what is a 'good' baseline compared with ours, and shortcut trying to interpret them.

    Well, I have a new android phone now that cost $50 from Amazon that plays nice with a $10 elm327 bluetooth ODB adapter and has a 3.5" screen so I didn't ever bother with the USB connection.

    Nice thing is the bluetooth ODB works with the old Saturn SL2 as well so I'll be getting MPG data from it in a few days.

    I tried it this way but i dont know how to modify ModeAndPID correctly. These where my steps:

    ->Settings ->Manage extra PIDs/Sensors ->Press menu button "add custom PID" and then fill in the above values -> Press "OK"

    The following Message accours: "PID is too long - can be 3 bytes (6 hex characters) only"

    Maybe i am totally wrong and i dont have to add a custom PID for a send button? If i try it this way ->add display -> select type of display "push button" (last entry) -> send OBD command -> display configuration ->set command to send i dont know what to fill in there correctly. Please help me. Thank you.

    Best regards
    Michel

    Guys, try these below. I shortened them to 3 bytes, not sure if they'll work.

    ->Settings ->Manage extra PIDs/Sensors ->Press menu button "add custom PID" and then fill in the values -> Press "TEST"

    If they don't work, we'll have to ask Ian to re-add 4 bytes (8 Hex chars). Previous version of Torque allowed 4 bytes before.

    Then, ModeAndPID needs to be 4 bytes (8 chars). We'll need a new version of Torque app. You can request this feature (removal of limitation) on the Torque forum and the author (Ian) can reimplement it. Not sure why he limited to 3 bytes. It used to allow 4 bytes.

    Edit: I posted a request on Torque forum.

    Thank you especially for your request. Hope Ian will remove the limitation

    Let's take an e.g.

    MG1 Inv Temp (F) = 1.8 * Y - 58

    To convert to C, we know

    C = 5/9 * (F - 32)

    By substitude F = 1.8 * Y - 58,

    C = 5/9 * ((1.8 * Y - 58) - 32)

    C = Y - 50

    MG1 Inv Temp (C) = Y - 50

    For Battery Temp., you can check my post #56.

    I am trying to see if there is a way that I can display the gear position in my GenII, hopefully in the Torque Pro app. I see your list here includes Shift Sensor Shift Position | Shift position P, R, N, D or B and I am not sure if you have it display in your vehicle..and if so, how?

    Thanks!

    Is there any reason to prefer PLX Bluetooth over PLX WiFi?

    Wifi will give you a lot more updates per second. I haven't used one, but I wish I had one.

    Is there a Torque application for the Ipad. Maybe someone could write the Torque application for an Ipad.

    I have a vague remebrance of someone mentioning that the PLX WiFi adapters use Ad Hoc wireless mode, and Androids don't support that.

    PLX's web site clearly states that their WiFi products are for iOS devices, and their Bluetooth products are for Androids. Very disappointing. I think you could root your Android device and make it work, but it's probably not worth it. This may be the excuse I'm looking for to buy an iPad.
