I bought my prius on July 13th 2013 and made 5 road trips to concerts and airports each about 200 miles each way. (5000 miles) Well, it does not seem like I have put 5000 miles on it this fast. All the rest is 75 mile round trip to work 3 days a week (1800 miles) . I am heading to the toyota dealer to get my tires rotated tomorrow. My point is that it is a nice smooth riding car and I do not have any problems making trips in it. I was keeping track of fuel with the fuelly app but it would not let me input data more than once per day. I have been averaging 45 miles per gallon on the long trips at 75 mph and 48 mpg at 65 when I drive to work and back. Good thing toyota changes my oil for first 25,000 miles. If I quit running all over oklahoma and texas then I should only put 15,000 miles a year on it. But I love getting such good mpg.
I do 30,000 miles a year, or 5,000 every 2 months. My Gen 2 hit 90,000 3 years to the day after I bought it. My v was about 2 weeks early to 30,000.
My clients start at 44 miles away and go to about 92 miles away, it varies which ones and how many I see each day. I am home every night. Additionally, I drive church ladies to their Drs. Appointments about once a week. (Memphis is 135 miles north, Jackson is 97 miles south) My wife is somewhere in the US each day*, she travels (mostly by plane) 2 weeks out of 5, tomorrow she is in Brunswick, GA. *She just applied for a Puerto Rico architect's license, that's still the US, right?
Picked mine up July 9th and am at 5200. Need to schedule my 5000 mile "service" to check the box for warranty.
