Hey guys, I recently had a chance to spend some time in a Prius C. I like it! From browsing the forums here, my 41mpg experience probably isn't reaching the car's full efficiency potential. But given that small petrol cars have gotten very efficient... what made you decide to still go with a hybrid? You do get a better mpg, but with the added cost, weight and complexity, did it still make a lot more sense than a roughly equivalent petrol car? Also, I did some quick research about long term maintenance. But in your experience, what is the typical replacement time frame for big items like battery and electric motor? Does it offset the fuel savings in the long run? Anyway, great forum you have here and below is my review!
Nice, thanks for sharing. Just to comment - the ECO Mode does *not* sap power. It remaps the accelerator input. The range is still the same, but it makes the initial travel less sensitive (and therefore the final part of travel is more sensitive).
Thank Rob! That's good to know. Sounds like just a different throttle mapping. I see you're getting 53.9mpg average on yours. Nice job!
So is it better to accelerate briskly or slowly when accelerating from a stop? If briskly, that means keeping the Eco Score banner as high as possible without getting into the red power section?
