Which things do you mean? The ones on the windows? The hood? My car has both. The hood deflector has saved the hood and windshield from numerous rocks, so I'd say that's worth it from a practical point of view, but I understand if you're not too keen on the looks of it. The window deflectors are very handy, mostly because I can leave the windows down a bit in the rain and not get wet. That may not be an issue where you live. I bought these items with the car from the dealership. I've been told these parts are not as common in the US, but I'm sure if you search online, you'll be able to find several sources. It's possible the PriusChat store also carries them.
Hey there thank you for your reply, so they are called window deflectors? sorry about calling them wind visors, thats what we call them in Japan. Do you have a specific brand or link that i can view?
You're welcome. No worries on calling them visors; I just wasn't sure what you meant. Sorry, I don't know the brand name. I'd guess they'd be even more common in Japan, but I could be wrong. I would suggest a call to the local dealer, just to see. You can always look around for a better price once you know exactly what you're looking for. I can't recall names and dates, but I know some people in the US have ordered them from Canada, along with mud flaps that are not standard equipment there.
Weathertech are the only brand to buy (in my opinion). They are the best. They are called side window deflectors..
+1 On the Weathertech window deflectors (visors). I just installed them about two weeks ago and really like them. They look like original equipment. They are really easy to install. Now I can leave windows cracked open in the parking lot at work.
Now that I think about it, I recall earlier (*much* earlier....) discussions about these deflectors. One or two brands were particularly difficult to install, but I don't remember the names. You could try a search to see what you can find - I'm sure there's more information on this site.
Installation is quick and easy, with no exterior tape needed. WeatherTech® Side Window Deflectors do not stick to the outside of your vehicle. They install inside the window channel. These low profile window deflectors help to reduce wind noise and allow interior heat to escape, even when it is raining.
Check the Pruis store here. Do not get them for the back windows if you can. The windows role down different.
