Short post today!! I just filled up my Tink for the first time...and it was a whole $28...oh I love it!!
I thought it was a mistake when I first started filling up the Prius. I thought something was wrong with the tank or the gas pump. good problems to have, i suppose.
I've only filled up twice. Around 33 bucks each time. Used to be 65-70 for my Chrysler 300c. This is so much better.
Yeah i was in shock with my 1st fill up too, its so cheap i now uses 91 octane just to treat my C to the best there is.
Unless it calls for it, do not use it. It just goes out the tale pipe. Use what the engine needs. But the thought is very nice. Put on window tint. I think that car would look cool with tent. SCH-I535 ? 2
I just filled up my new Prius for the first time, also. A whopping...$34!! whoa! Created an account at Fuelly, too. Let the tracking begin! This car sure is tons of fun to drive
I don't trust the oil companies, or the car companies. Just because the pump says 87 oct, what if it is really less oct than stated. I had a Subaru that took 87, but it would knock on it, it really liked 91 more and had no knocking when used. Manufactures want to sell and tell you to use 87 because that may influence the sale. Engine problems will not show up until the warranty is out. Dealer will say its bad gas. Again for the extra dollar or tow to use 91 is cheap insurance. Europe has higher oct fuel than the US.
I'm not familiar with the Prius (yet) - do they have a small gas tank? Also, I'm curious - when you state that you fill it up - can you mention how many miles you've gone since the last fill up? With my current Sonata (who will be given to my daughter once I get a Prius); I would expect to pay $50 for a tank and go about 400 miles. Can't wait to see what folks get with the Prius. Thanks.
The Prius "almost" has a 12 gallon tank. Specifically, 11.9 gallons. When you run "low" and you go fill up, you'll most likely put in 10 gallons as there's a 1-2 gallon reserve for... *ahem* "miscalculations".
I fill the tank when the fuel indicator shows 2 bars. Takes less than 8 gallons. Never force more petro after the first click on a Gen ll, as doing so could damage the tank bladder.
This car has changed my entire experience of driving. I now do not care about driving anywhere and am no longer worried about how long this new tank I just filled up will last. If I want to go somewhere, anywhere, I got without hesitation. This experience blows my mind when I think about it. iPad ? HD
