I have a 3 month old Prius 2005 - fully loaded. The 6 disc CD Player works fine, from an audio perspective. But it has never displayed the title or track info for the CD's it is playing. SO far I'm only playing "store-bought" cd's that work fine giving off title and track info to other CD players. What's wrong with the Prius CD Player? Can I fix it or must I return it to the dealer? http://priuschat.com/style_images/1/folder...icons/icon9.gif
Ever thought it might be the CDs that you're playing? If the CDs don't have CD-TEXT in the disc, then how can the Prius' CD player display the artist/title?
i heard there are only certain programs you can use to burn a cd that works for the car. It won't read all ct text.. i think it has to be nero or something... *shrug*.. never liked nero.. never had text show up.. corrilation there?
Are the other CD players network connected? I've found that very few store-bought CDs don't have CD-Text embedded on them (do not know why, seems like they should, but I suppose there are very few CD players that actually support text of any sort anyway). Burn your own CDs with compatible writing software and you can add the text in yourself. Dave
I've used Nero with success. Make sure to use the newer version and turn on the CD-text. If confgured properly, Nero will get the CD info automatically from the internet.
Try the Dixie Chicks "Home" CD. It displays song and artist info. I could not find a CD which would display, and got a tip to try that one. Works. Check your system with it. Rod
Matisyahu's "Live at Stubbs" has the text embedded as well. I don't see too many "store bought" CDs that include the info. Quite often, when I get a new CD, I'll use CDex to look up the track info on CDDB. I then rip it to WAV and re-burn it with the song titles enabled.
I've been disappointed by this problem as well. I normally use Roxio Easy Media Creator to burn CD's. I just tried burning one using Nero, and sure enough, it worked!
