Thinking about buying a set of floor liners for my Prius C for the winter months. I see both Husky (weatherbeater) and WeatherTech (digitfit) have them for Prius C now. The WeatherTech has pictures in car and seems to be a good fit except on the left foot. The Husky one does not have a photo in car. Also, the weathertech one has holes to fix them on the floor whereas the Husky one doesn't seem to have them. The WeatherTech one is $128 for the front liners. The Husky is $144 for both front and back. Anybody has experiences with them? Are they good fit? Which one would be better?
Don't take this as anything but an opinion. One of the first things I bought for my standard Prius 2, was weathertech digital fit mats for the front and back. On the positive side? They do everything they say they will do. They protect well, fit excellently, and when clean, look great. On the negative side? Well I got the light gray color, but I have found that they get dirty, or look dirty really quickly. After you purchase them, Weathertech will send with the product a sample of both a cleaner and protectant. My experience is that the protectant spray is really vital to avoiding scuffs and keeping the mats looking good for a longer period of time. Without it, the mats will scuff very easily. They spray off, and clean fairly easily, so maybe that isn't a huge issue, or maybe during winter months you just let your mats do their job? And just don't worry about it? But I have to admit, while not unhappy with my digital fit weathertechs, I think if I had to purchase all over again I'd get the custom fit rubber Huskys or Weathertech ( I believe they make a rubber mat option ). While the digital fit look absolutely great when clean, they don't hide any dirt or scuffing at all. I think rubber is more forgiving in this department. Again, I'm not planning on giving up my Weathertechs, they are a nice product. But that is one discovered aspect that I have been slightly disappointed about.
I'm a weathertech floorliner fan. Purchased them for wife's Rav4, new camry hybrid, previous dodge ram, and for toyota venza. Great mats! My 2005 Prius has Husky Liners. I hate the Husky's. They are thin and less flexible. Fit poor to say the least. Makes me want to order weathertechs for it also as I type this....
Try these: I go sick of the massive, bulk, rubber "dirty" look of the other mats. Have these in my C and in my Wife's Venza, love them! Review: 3D Maxpider Floor Mats - Verdict - WIN | PriusChat Chris
Sorry, you were disappointed. I have owned the weathertech's for three different cars. I love them and would recommend them. They are a professional fit, easy to clean and look great. I do however have the black. Weathertech makes great products, no one should worry about the quality.
I bought the Huskys...hated the fit of the drivers mat. I returned them and got weathertech's. I love the weathertech fit, its perfect! Galaxy Note 8.0
I didn't mean to sound too negative about them. I agree the fit is great, they are easy to clean, and when they are clean they look great. Also, yes, they are good quality. It may be as simple as perhaps I should of gotten black. The light gray, looks great. But tends to show any tracked in dirt, almost immediately. Where I would say my experience with rubber mats is they can absorb some dirt, and kind of hide it. But I like them. IMO however the protectant spray is a must.
Is the weathertech rubber or some sort of plastic? Also what do you spray? The liner or the carpet underneath?
Weathertech makes a non-slip protectant spray, and IMO it's a must...you spray the liner itself. It's not recommended you use any other type of protectant as it can make the mat's slippery. That's kind of my point, just be aware the digital fit mats are NOT rubber. I don't know what exactly they are made of, almost a protruded plastic, semi-flexible, very durable....but at least in light gray, prone to show any dirt or scuffs pretty easily.
I'm going to have to put in a plug for Husky Liners. Less expensive, and they work great. I got them because the dead pedal area is much higher on the Husky's, helping to keep the carpet clean further up. Not to mention they have some of the best customer service I've ever experienced.
That's a pretty good question; I'd have to answer by saying it's a polymer of some sort. According to their site it's some sort of elastomeric compound, I wouldn't say it's plastic, but it's not quite rubber either. It's somewhat flexible, you can fold it in half and it springs back to its original shape. Check out this comparison between Weathertech and Husky. That link states the Husky's are made of "rubberized thermoplastic" for what that's worth. It also has prices on there but I couldn't find the Weathertechs for that price when I was shopping for mine, perhaps they're about the same at this point. Keep in mind, (at least with Husky) it's a liner, not a mat. It's a solid shell that has no holes in it, it will hold water without leaking through to the floor. I believe even the Weathertech's liners have some holes in them (or at least some models do) to utilize the anti-slip locks in the cars that have them.
I have the dark colored Weathertechs for both my Prius "C" and my 2010 Prius. The wife and I love them. And there's made in Bolingbrook Illinois, USA! What's not to like?
I have to add that I also have the WeatherTech full set in my 2013 Prius 3. This is the first time I've purchased this "type" of floormat. I am really impressed with the fit and the look. They come out easy and can be hosed down. or scrubbed. I really like the mat in the cargo area, it's saved my carpet many times. They are made in the USA, and the factory is only 10 miles from my house so I went and picked them up. A very nice showroom and a free beverage and snack while they're pulling your order. A very professional atmosphere with friendly personnel, oh, and a great product too. No I don't work for the company, I'm retired and just like passing information on for a good American made product. jp ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T ? 4
I did husky because i wanted something to generously cover the driver left foot rest and i wanted the single large rear floor protector SCH-I535 ? 4
The 3d mat I refrenced also one rear piece, covering the "hump" in the middle, and has a "dead pedal" cover, locks in using the factory locks, and is molded so that lots of liquid can sit in the mat but not leak into the carpet.
I too am debating between weatherteach digitalfit and the husky. My sister has the weathertech for her CRV and loves them. She lives in an area that snows and rain a bit. I live in San Diego where it pretty much does neither. Well rain sometimes. I'd like something that covers the dead pedal and I also want a "cargo liner" so I'm leaning towards the husky.
