If you mean the VIN or Vehicle Identification Number, then it is in numerous places. Most prominent is in lower right of windshield, on a dash placard, when looking at the windshield from the front end of the car. It's also on the door, by the locking mechanism, and the driver's door jamb area, etc. SCH-I535
If you mean, the in depth information like date of manufacturing, options, trim level, etc. I have no idea lol. SCH-I535
Thanks, but I know the locations of the vin/serial number on my car, but don't know how to decode it?
You can ask your insurance agent. They seem to be able to tell what equipment and options, etc are installed on your car from the VIN number. SCH-I535
Ha, that site produces incorrect results for mine. In fact it returns only three lines other than the VIN (I blanked out the s/n): VIN number ... Region Japan Mark Scion Serial Number ...
Thanks for letting us know that, since I don't have a "c" to check against it. Thought I was being helpful, but apparently not. Now, go find a better site. Bye...
VIN number JTDKDTB*********** Region Japan Mark Toyota Model Prius C Year 2012 Engine 1.5L L4 DOHC 16V HYBRID Serial Number 020206
Google "VIN identification". its in every NADA used vehicle monthly edition ands I can't find mine right now. But it begins with country of manufacture, model, drivetrain, date, etc amnd ends with a sequential production line numer. Here is the rundown: The VIN is 17 characters long and is composed of 3 main sections: WMI - World Manfacturer Identifier - The first three characters that uniquely identify the manufacturer of the vehicle VDS - Vehicle Descriptor Section - The 4th to 9th positions are used, according to local regulations, to identify the vehicle type, and may include information on the automobile platform used, the model, and the body style. VIS - Vehicle Identifier Section - The 10th to 17th positions are used by the manufacturer to identify the individual vehicle in question. This may include information on options installed or engine and transmission choices. VIN is normally located in several locations on a car, but the most common places are: On the door frame/door post of the front doors (usually driver's but sometimes passenger's) On the dash near the windshield On the engine itself (machined pad on front of engine) On the car's firewall In the left-hand inner wheel arch On the steering wheel/steering column On the radiator support bracket On your car's title, registration, guarantee/maintenance book or on the declarations page of your auto insurance policy f you want to knoe each section ID on your car use one of the VIN identication 'free' sources.
