I have a 2011 Prius. I put 15" aftermarket summer wheels on ot and a vibration appeared The wheels and tires have been rebalanced many times. Wheel alignment has been done, wheels replaced, tires replaced but the vibration is still there. I am now back to the OEM and the vibration is still there. Anyone have a similar problem

its probably the road if you have changed everything and nothing has fixed it. At higher speeds (freeway driving) there maybe consistent inconsistencies in the road itself which might make you think its the car.

The vibration didn't start until the aftermarket wheels went on. This happens between 105-115kms. Driving the same route with a number of different cars including a Prius it is nice and smooth

Did they damage a wheel when doing the change? Certainly sounds as though something had to have caused it during that change.

Did they do a Road Force balancing?

That has all been checked by Toyota. The wheels balance perfect each time

That has not been done. I will talk to them about it.
    Thanks

Heavier wheels on SUVs often need road force balancing to remove vibration. I'm surprised to hear Prius wheels might need it. Are they aftermarket and heavier than stock?

Are they using the correctly tapered lug nuts? Is the center bore correct on he new wheels?

I am currently back to the original wheels and tires. The aftermarket wheels were a lot lighter

The aftermarket wheels needed a hub ring to centre them and they did have a tapered lug nut

Did you ever resolve the vibration?

First determine weather it coming from front or rear! If front put car on jack stands and run to see if virbration is present ! Hub bolts torque, counter weight came off drive line , bent hub, visually check while wheel while turning for run out! If in rear check torque on hubs, bent hub , bad hub bearings, check for runout! Funny how this occur during wheel swap!
