Title pretty much sums it up... 2008 with JBL & NAV, want to keep the bluetooth capability, maybe even route the BT audio to the center channel like it was done HERE So, wanting to keep the JBL HU for now...yet upgrading the JBL speakers and amp so I don't have to find 2,3,6 ohm speakers. Actually, there's not a lot of options out there period if your trying to keep the db sensitivity close on all the speakers with all these different ohms. "It controls the volume of the outputs, as well as the fade/balance. It has a computer network connection to the radio, where digital volume, fade, and balance data is sent to the amplifier. The radio sends two channels (Right and Left) of balanced analog audio to the amplifier, at a fixed level (not changed by the user's volume control). The amplifier performs the crossover function for the front channels, sending lows to the woofer and highs to the tweeter. In addition, there is equalization in the amplifier that reinforces some frequency ranges and lowers others, and the equalization changes depending on volume setting. The fact that the amplifier takes a fixed level input and controls the volume itself means that the amplifier cannot simply be replaced by an aftermarket amplifier, because aftermarket amplifiers need a variable level input that varies with the volume setting the user has chosen" I keep reading about the 'cleansweep' and 'audiocontrol' units being needed since the current factory JBL amp controls a ton of the audio funtions..volume, fader...ect. What exactly do I need??
Do I need some sort of additional processor?? I want to run a more powerful 5 channel to the components and a single sub. I'll leave the OEM JBL amp in because i don't want to lose BT audio which i plan on re-routing to the center channel that I won't hook up to the new amp.
Anyone else who has more technical skills in audio equip especially with the Toyota JBL premium line, please chime in.
Are my suspicions right...all i need is AudioControl LC6i - the 6-Channel Line Output Converter With Internal Summing? $150 isn't horrible if that's all i need to retain the factory JBL HU and add an aftermarket amp and speakers. This should allow me to still have my NAV w/ audio after changing the BT playback to the center channel w/o interrupting music playback... i think.
i wish somebody would respond to this, i want to know the same info for my 07... or even better i wish i could answer it for you
nobody has a clue about this. you're way deep in uncharted waters. here be fell beasts and sea serpents...
