Just had the tires rotated on my 2005 Prius - have done this before and have reset the warning to light up in 3000 miles (tire warranty). This has been fine for the last 2 rotations, but now I can't seem to re-set and the light won't go off, even if I delete all the miles. Nothing else on the panel is lit for maintenance.. what gives?

The MAINT REQD light is based upon an odometer "timer" that goes off at 5K mile intervals and its purpose is to remind you to get the engine oil and oil filter replaced. This has nothing to do with tire rotation (perhaps you are thinking of a reminder that you set on the MFD?). To turn off the MAINT REQD light, first set the odometer so that it reads cumulative miles, then make the car IG-OFF.

Depress the button that switches between trip odometers and the cumulative odometer and continue to hold it down. Make the car IG-ON by depressing the POWER button twice without depressing the brake pedal, so all the warning lights appear.

Continue to hold the odometer button down and watch the odometer reading show a sequence of dashes that goes away after several seconds. Then the timer is reset and the light should go off.

Dude! Thank you so much for the detailed reply. I followed these steps and it worked like a charm. It was annoying because that yellow light was always in my peripheral vision, and troubling because I wasn't 100% sure there wasn't something wrong with the vehicle. Thanks again.
