I currently have a Verizon Wireless Motorola RAZR V3c Bluetooth phone. Has anyone had experience wit this phone in their Prius? I haven't heard positive remarks about Verizon. Thanks for your input.
Verizon disables ALL OBEX functionality on ALL its phones. You will not be able to transfer your phone book from it. I used a Cingular Razr to do it.
I have a Motorola RAZR V3 Bluetooth phone from Cingular and it works perfectly with the Prius. Unfortunately I'm currently using my old Nokia 3650 right now (which also works perfectly with the Prius) because the keypad on the RAZR no longer lights up. My husband is in process of fixing it for me so that I can continue using it.
I have the RAZR with Verizon and it works wonderfully but I must admit I didn't try to use it to transfer my phonebook. I did that with my Treo650, which I can't get to stay synced with the Prius bluetooth. But as a phone, the RAZR is great.
It seemed to work fine, transferring my phonebook from my RAZR to the Prius. My husband was in charge of that (he actually begged me to let him do it) because he works for Cingular and therefore knows more than I do about all things cellular phone-related. But in using the Bluetooth over the last week, it appears that all the #'s I have in my phonebook have been transferred with no problem and no omissions whatsoever.
Historically this may be true, but the current rumor is that the 1st batch of Verizon RAZRs hit the stores with OBEX enabled before they turned it off. While I haven't had the opportunity to attempt a transfer with a Prius (mine's on order), I'm able to establish a BT OBEX connection between by Verizon RAZR and my PC. I can up/download files just as if it were a flash drive. FWIW - I purchased the phone in early January from a Verizon outlet. I'm hopeful it will be able to sync the phonebook with the car.
