So after 7 months of ownership and a valid comparison with the Saturn: 2001 Saturn SC2: 14,265 miles in 7 months: 468.30 gallons of fuel at a cost of $1,648.02 avg MPG of 31.093. $235.43/month 2012 Prius C: 14,313 miles in 7 months: 268.39 gallons of fuel at a cost of $919.04 avg MPG of 53.532. $131.29/month $104.14/month just in gas savings...
awesome! I saved around $40 my first week of driving my C2. I am expecting a minimum of $160/month saving which is only $20 shy of the monthly lease payment
I am saving $250 per month based on my previous miles per month and now I expect my miles per month to increase. Allen
If we are going off current months, mine would be ridiculous... I drove a 2002 F150 6 cylinder that belongs to my cousin for a couple of months after my Saturn died and before I got my Pepper Bomb. 3 months: 5,578 miles, 329.18 gallons of fuel at a cost of $1,064.65 avg MPGs of 17.202. $354.88/month
Not exactly even comparisons here...but this is my Honda Civic Hybrid that I had previously (for about 1 year) and my C (which I've also had about 1 year). And this is comparing a hybrid to a hybrid. The HCH for 9,497 miles tracked, average MPG 46.3: The Prius C for 11,890 miles tracked, average MPG 49.9: To make the comparison easier...taking the average price per mile x 10000 for each car is: HCH: $760 Prius C: $710 Savings for 1 year: about $50. Keep in mind gas prices averaged $.04 higher for the C. It sounds laughable that I traded, but the HCH I replaced the battery for $2800 and the engine was eating oil at the rate of about 2 qt/1000 miles. It had serious issues. I've paid for nothing but gas and accessories for the C. Can't complain, it's a great little car and a lot more versatile than a sedan with fixed seat backs.
