    hi all

I just got my prius last week! so cute and shiny and new... but....
on day 1, I paired my phone (droid razr maxx hd) to the car and talked for about 5 min without issue.

the next day, this behavior started... I turn on my car, after about 30-60s, the phone and car pair. If I make a phone call right away, the car Bluetooth will turn off after 30s. If I don't make a call right away, after several minutes, the Bluetooth will once again shut down. The only way to turn it back on is to turn off and restart the car. (My phone pairs just fine with my 2007 prius)

I read online that the current razr operating system has issues... but never heard of this. The dealership is confused by the issue. Wondering if any of you experienced this and had the issue resolved?

    thanks :)

Phone calls limited to 30-60 seconds? My late father would have considered that a feature worth paying extra for.

Exactly. It doesn't help the OP, (Sorry)...but that's a feature I think I'd pay extra for....

yeah, except that this includes how long the phone rings before being answered.... If it's my mom, you're talking about 5s or less of talk time. Have been playing with this for a while. The latest: the Bluetooth even shuts itself off if no phone is paired to it :cautious: To think the dealership is blaming my phone.

Try another phone. If it does the same thing, something's wrong with your car. If not, it's your phone.

If the dealer pairs a phone to the car and manages to have a long call, make sure to turn the car off and try it again a few times. I had a pairing problem on the second startup with my Lexus GS and they changed something in a service menu which corrected the problem.

you know, I THOUGHT I fixed the problem today... I uninstalled the entune app and then resynched the phone. It worked the first time... the second time... and then NADA. It pooped out when the car kept prompting the phone for access to messages. when I granted access = pooped out. When I resynched the phone and then denied access, it STILL pooped out. It's very weird. Not sure how to deal with it...
do you know what they changed in service menu?

    thanks!!!

I have a 2012 Two and used it with two different phone .... Blackberry Bold and Galaxy S2 ... I can assure you it goes dozens of minutes .... depending who calls :))

Have you tried playing music ??? just to see if it is a bluetooth pairing thing or phone only related...

I had this issue before. It turned out that a program i installed on my android turns off bluetooth and wifi when the phone screen turns off. This was the defaut setting for this program. I changed the setting on this program to not turn off bluetooth when screen is off......problem solved.

I hope you fixed it by now. Seems that if you use show text the whole system shuts down. I suggest you start the car, unpair the phone quickly. Unpair the car from the phone and start again. This time do not allow the data (text) to be loaded. Then your phone and music will work . It is a Toyota software glitch. They say it is the phone but that is as phoney as man made global warming. They are usually pretty good at fixing things but this one has escaped them for some reason. I just load text in my Subaru and ignore the Prius. Toyota should be better than this. They are a class company But in this case they must have missed it.
