I've been lurking around here a long time, but I signed up just to say Paul at Boulder Hybrids did an amazing job on my 2005 rusty Prius from Michigan. After new pads, rotors, wheel bearings, transmission fluid, and a few things to keep an eye on it runs like new! :)

Thank you for the links. Located Phil's Automotive in Hemet-Ca. Reasonable driving distance from me so Saturday visit would be N.P.

We need a, " Prius Repair Board " listed by state, on the main forum page.
I know Danny has his hands full; but I think this would be a good idea.:)
Members can add independent Prius repair shops to the list; with a repair rating grade; if it can be set up right.(y)

    Another vote for Tomas Zakarka.

I found his ad in Craigslist, promptly googled him and saw this post. If TampaPrius.com uses him, he must be good.

SO I called him up and booked him to come down to South Florida from Tampa to repair my 06.

Very very very nice guy, very knowledgeable.

Hey, somehow I missed this thread!

I work on hybrids here in Madison, Wisconsin and glad to help any PriusChat folks!

Besides working on hybrids I am committed to the hybrid community.
I've owned hybrids since 2003, and have run the local hybrid car club since 2004.

    I provide knowledgeable, honest service.

Here are a few Yelp reviews:
    Emily M. 5 stars
"I cannot say enough good things about EV Powers Hybrid Battery Service & Repair. I bought a 2005 Toyota Prius and 3 weeks later the warning lights of death came on--- I needed a new hybrid battery. The dealership wanted $3500 for a battery with a 1 year warranty--- EV Powers found me a remanufactured battery with a 3-year, unlimited mile warranty for significantly less! "

    Kevin C. 5 stars
"Came to Algoma Wi. all the way from Madison to work on our Toyota. Saved a wad of money having EV Powers work on the hybrid battery instead of the dealer. Great worker with great ethics! Would highly recommend!"

    Heidi H. 5 stars
"Eric helped us with a pre-purchase inspection of a Prius. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and made the purchase process less stressful. We highly recommend him!"

    Ryan R. 5 stars
"The battery on my 2001 Honda Insight hybrid died and needed replacing. I found EV Powers through a hybrid car forum where he came highly recommended. I emailed them to ask about pricing, and he called me within 1 hour to respond to my questions. Eric Powers called me right away and was VERY informative and gave me several options for getting my car running again. Eric is extremely knowledgeable about hybrid cars and was willing to talk to me for a long time over the phone to answer all of my questions.

I decided to go with the option of having Eric replace the battery on my car with an upgraded (high capacity) brand new battery. While I had my car there I had Eric clean the EGR plate and check out several other issues I had with the car.

One thing I really appreciated was that Eric gave me an accurate itemized price quote ahead of time so that I knew what I could expect to pay for each service.

I live near Chicago so this was about a 2.5 hour drive for me to Madison, but was well worth the drive. I drove up in the morning and he had all of the work done by lunch time, as promised. During the install I used their WIFI to do a bit of work, and watched the car get worked on while I asked countless questions about hybrids and Honda Insight's in general. The install went very smoothly and the car feels amazing to drive with the new battery.

    I highly recommend EV Powers"

In Buffalo, NY area I recommend Bailey Tire for suspension, brake, and tires. They're honest straight shootters. I've been very happy with their service.

I am doing all of my own repairs now and can service others in the Tampa Bay area. Here is my website.
    Home - Tampa Hybrids Inc.

I don't use Tomas any longer (because I do my own) but I still would recommend him to anyone in the St.Pete area or if you need a mobile mechanic.

I forgot to mention them also, Josh and Doug of Toyoworks did my evaporator replacement.

I was driving without AC for a couple of months and I think that pushed my HV battery over the edge.

Toyoworks was %40 of what the dealer quoted me.

Can anyone recommend an affordable mechanic in Naples FL area (can also be Marco Island or Bonita Springs , Estero or Fort Myers)
If I have no other solution I guess even Miami
My ABS light and Brake light came on , regenerative breaking doesn't seem to work , you have to push really close to the floor to get the regular breaks to work.
    Guess it's the ABS Pump
2013 Prius 130k miles , just bought it 2 weeks ago from O'Brien Fort Myers , 1owner car , very well maintained, never been in an accident.
Funny thing my ancient 2007 Camry hybrid never had this issue at 195k
