TSB: Abnormal Entune/Navigation Operation for Display Audio (Non-HDD Type)

    It is supposed to be treated just like a factory recall. Doesn't matter how many miles are on the car.

    I asked my dealer about updating my car from 2.1.0 and they said they didn't have any newer updates but would email me when they heard more. The Orientation Specialist I spoke with also said the T-SB numbers were useless for them for looking anything up. I'm wondering if it's only useless because he didn't want to look it up...Entune is such a mess, I just want the text message sender ID to show up so I know who texted me!

    Yea mine said he called over to Toyota and they said they weren't mailing the update until November and that I should probably find it online by then. I was like ummm yea, whatever to that. They did look up the numbers but then again since i'm at 40k now who knows. It's sad. They should just send them as before but maybe it is a future money grab. I never paid for firmware update. Silly.

    I think Toyota is just scared about putting updated firmware online for people to download (and then potentially hack). OTA updates make the most sense for Entune since the whole idea is to have your cell phone provide a connection for your car. I'll wait til November and ask them at my next oil change, by then maybe they'll have a 2.5.0+ update...

    I took that TSB info with me to the dealer at lunch. They were aware of it and did it on the spot. Took about 15 minutes total.

    No muss, no fuss. Performance Toyota in LaVista NE.

    Does your version now say 2.2.0, 2.3.0, or something else? The way the TSB reads, makes it sound like it fixes some issues specific to 2.2.0 which would make it 2.3.0 or higher.

    Mine showed 2.1 when he brought up the screen. I was looking in from the outside. I mentioned I thought it was supposed to be 2.2 or something and he replied yes. I haven't looked at what version is has right now since I had to zoom to back to work.

    I would check, I've had them say they updated it before and when I checked again it was still 2.1.0 and they hadn't done anything but plugged in a USB thumb drive and then removed it.

    Have others in the SF Bay Area , Ca had this issue addressed- I'd like to know if there is a dealer I can go to as an alternative to my local one...Toyota of Santa Cruz

    I have supplied the dealer with the TSB and the conditions three times and requested this resolution specifically, and each time I am given the run-around by Toyota of Santa Cruz.

    They have not said it doesn't exist, just that: 1) the only tech who can do the update isn't available, even when I specifically asked for him after the first time and that he was available (until he suddenly wasn't and they'd already kept the car all day on a Sunday; 2) they need to order the part; 3) I should bring the specific text of the bulletin to THEM so they can read it and see if it applies!

    Has anyone else had such a difficult time getting this done? I am at 20600 now, and was at 15000 when I first complained. Now, they have a TSB for the glove box issue I've also had and complained about since the 5k service. Are they stringing me out until 36k so they can charge?

    Any references to a reputable and straightforward dealer would be appreciated; I don;t think that I can give my paying work to a service department who won't deal with me for the small stuff that's covered by warranty.

    Antioch Toyota has the USB and it only takes five minutes or less to install.
    Ask for David Sanchez in Service 925 778-4800

    I had the Entune updated to 2.2.0 when I had the 20K oil change at Antioch Toyota. It corrected the "destination is on your left/right" that 2.1 wiped out.

    Dublin, Walnut Creek and Concord Toyota all played stooopid as to the TSB.

    The trick is to give the service writer the part number for the USB - it's on the 5th post of this thread. Make them look up the part number, it's a "special tool" and is probably kept with the shop steward. If they got the part - they got what you need.

    Tried that already at the 15k- that was when they kept it all day for the one person who can use the USB stick, then said that I needed to bring it back special for that item because he ran out of time.

    I almost feel like putting out an ad: "to the dealer who will perform TSB 0051-13 and TSB --76-13 without giving me any struggle or run-around, I'll throw in the opportunity to replace my cabin air filter and change my transaxle fluid at 25k. If you are really good, I may let you upgrade my maps and charge me for that too..."

    Very similar to what I was told, that there is only one guy there that does that update and has the USB stick and that he would have to see if he was even there that day. I guess none of the other techs/mechanics can go over and grab this "special" item. Really odd if you ask me. Toyota just needs to do OTA update or send them out or let us download it ourselves. It is ridiculous.

    Sounds like zero co-operation or zero customer service.
    If they have the USB, make the appointment - if they give you the run around put in a corporate complaint.

    For me, the service writer grabbed the USB from the shop steward and we sat in the car while it did it's thing.
    Two minutes maybe.
    It was no different than the 2.1 update process.

    I checked my Prius V, it came with 2.0.0 installed back in April 2013.

    Going to have to check on next oil change for my 2012 Prius V. Currently still has 1.8.4 from July 2012. Quite a jump to version 2.2 if that is current one.

    Anyone know if there is any map updates for Entune? I know the old NAV systems used to have dedicated DVD Map disc but this current radio does not seem to have that option.

    Update for the Prius V 2012 done today. I did not even have to fill out paperwork. Less than 5 mins at the dealership, 3 minutes loading 8 files off USB stick. Rebooted and system update completed from factory 1.8.4 July 2012 to version 2.2. They did the upgrade at the check in desk of the service department.

    Painless and no cost.

    Has anyone gotten this update from a dealer in Canada? Also how do I check the current version of my software?
