Ok I did the dirty deed.
and other than the 6 mo gas rule - I didn't have to ! I tried and tried but it would only take 8.07 gallons !
SO what I was saying all along was right - the dealer had a couple gas gallons on my PiP.
my own driving ended up at 53mpg HV not the pathetic low 40's I was being charged with...

think all that resulted in apx 125MPGe but I'm heading out now and can't verify
    and
My next tank will be much better given I know to ignore the gas miles remaining reading

I keep a spreadsheet of every fillup ever made. That way I have the lifetime stuff on there which frees up the second tripometer.

I dont have a spreadsheet but I do keep each receipt, and i tend to take pics of each screen during fillup. These cars do a pretty good job of keeping track of things for the most part.

Funny cause before this vehicle, i rarely ever wanted to know how much fuel i was using or how many miles i was driving!! haha

    Updated, nice job RBooker!

Now takes 84.5 to tie for tenth! That would put you fourth place on the regular Prius list, and fifth on the Volt list!

:(Whoa, I'm getting ready to fall off the "Top 10 MPGe" list and I probably won't get back up. I've had my PIP since January 2013, and it been fun maximizing my fuel mileage, and some what of a obsession. I'm guaranteed great fuel mileage due to my "almost always" gas free daily commute. From now on, my philosophy is "no problem". ICE cuts on unexpectedly, no problem. EV range lower than normal, no problem. The Prius, and Plug Ins are great cars and any idiot can achieve "bragging rights" fuel mileage. I'll let my MPG & MPGe chips fall where they may. I'm now destined for "middle of the pack" status. No problem.:D

You know R4999 - its probably not possible, just too hilly here and its hard to improve on 99%
but this is an awfully pretty picture

859 miles in and approaching 92 MPGe. 60% EV ratio. I love this car.

BTW, I did not pump up the tire pressure. I used AC when I needed to (like muggy day today) or if passengers are in the car. I can stand without the AC if outside temp is below 80 deg but my wife needs 76 deg AC.

Let's see if this is an improvement. Although, this is the lifetime average for the car, including the 40 miles on the ODO when I took delivery. I'm now charging on both ends of my commute. image.jpg
