I'm curious because the Yakima website doesn't recommend the Q towers for the 2012 Prius, instead they recommend their Whispbar (more expensive) w/58" bars. You don't have any problem with the Q towers and 48" round bar on your 2012 plug-in? (I have the same model and am thinking of putting a cargo carrier on it for a trip we're taking). Thanks.
They are a business selling competitive products. Recommendations change overtime. The Q-towers work fine. They've been great on mine.
Ben they recommend the whispbars because they are more aerodynamic for the Prius. I personally have thule racks because I think they are better.
