Did you paint your switch panels?? My dumb ars scratch left panel while swapping steering wheel... Does anybody know where to get the panel, without switches themselves ????? Or maybe what to use to paint it... glossy paint, coat or vinyl?? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I think he simply covered them up with the buttonless stick-ons as he uses the buttons on the NAV rather than the steering wheel.

They have complete kit for $180. Very tempting :) Are they actual replacement panels or stick on?

Thanks! Might just buy the MIT one. Also, worried about the steering wheel not being aligned. I haven't been through all 13 pages yet but is that fixed with an alignment?

Yes, by adjusting the tie rods.

I got the panels with my steering wheel on rakuten.com . Just a little harder to find. They were 50 for the pair.

Very Nice... I like the black, but see a "black with blue" fade on the web site....

That's Heat Blue, also available through Nigel. Other wood colors are available as well as all leather versions with red, blue or black stitching.

Has anyone installed this on a plug in? I'm wondering because I'll be installing this today and wasn't sure if anything was different due to the plug in's battery.. Thanks!!

Darn, the one day I work all day renovating my parent's kitchen, I miss out on this sweet all leather steering wheel. I don't care for the ones with the wood at the top of the wheel. :p

And the real kicker, I live in Honolulu too. Might have been able to pick up and save on shipping. ;)

    Should be the same.

A number of manufacuturers make the all leather version, including with red or black stitching. Not a fan of branding on the steering wheel (which Tom's is big on) so I'd get a version without the annoying branding if I were you.

Yup almost the same.. Mine had 2 plugs on the air bag rather than 1.. Also accessing the trunk battery was a little different

Are the prius jdm steering wheels the same as the prius c?

Also, how hard is to do this install for someone who is a complete novice? :)

I'm a little concerned about breaking something... Especially the airbag :p and also concerned about the steering wheel alignment!

Yes. In fact, a fellow Prius c member installed the all-leather version of the JDM steering wheel.

It's pretty easy to do. An experienced installer can swap it out in just 5 minutes, but give yourself more time. The only hard part was the constantly tugging on the stock wheel until it pops off as I didn't use a wheel puller (nor a torque wrench either).

Don't worry about the airbag as it comes out easily as one unit. Just be sure to disconnect the battery per the manual. A tire shop can take care of adjusting the tie rods.
