Where to get tires inflated.

    Does anyone know if places like Costco tire center, or other tire stores will check pressure and inflate for free. I hate paying $1 to have the air pump at the gas station run for a minute and stop before I can get to all the tires.

    i purchased a decent air compressor at lowe's and do my own at home.

    Buy a 7 or 9 gallon tank at Harbor Freight, WalMart, or any auto parts store. Comes with a hose and gage. Your dollar's worth of air will top off many tires. Perhaps a better long-term alternative is small compressor from Harbor Freight, Home Depot, etc. That $100 investment will make you self-sufficient forever.

    most are pretty loud, but you have a good point, i would love to find a quiet (er) one.

    Some of the gas stations around here have buttons on the underside of the air compressor "box" which, if pressed two or three times, bypasses the whole "put some quarters in" thing... ;)
