do you know what the connection to the usb/aux ports look like?

 

The grey one on the center is the OEM USB/3.5 jack audio plug.

Go to page 7 on this thread and you will get more info on this.

 

as far as using the stock usb/aux ports; this fits and does the job? Axxess-AX-USB-35EXT

and for using the stock steering wheel controls; this does the job? AX-TOY28SWC

and since i am planning on the alpine cde-hd149bt; i can use the mic that comes w the alpine receiver, correct?

Don't forget you will also need the ASWC module as well with that harness.

 

If anyone has actually tried or installed the AX-USB-35EXT please drop some knowledge on the rest of us and maybe a picture too!

any reported problems w power? i'm not sure if i should be concerned.

i plan on using the alpine pdx4.100 4 channel amp (stated 4 x 100w rms / tested slightly higher than 4 x 110w rms)
and also a mono amp for a 10" subwoofer. i don't want to use my existing jbl 1200.1 amp or my alpine swr-1222d subwoofers. i'm thinking something in the 400w rms - 600w rms range. (800w rms - 1,000w rms between both amps)

does anyone have any experience w a comparable setup? i saw actiondonkey's, which was roughly 660w rms?

The ASWC-1. The ASWC has been discontinued, the big difference is that the -1 has a microUSB connector for firmware updates vs. a 4-pin header on the original that required a specific USB-to-serial adapter.

 

And to save you the trouble - if you buy the ASWC-1 from amazon, at least the two I bought (for my Prius and Wife's Venza) in the last two weeks had the latest firmware...

What is the verdict on best surround for double din head unit? Any pictures of finished products to compare?
