I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer as to what driver's seat adjustments are available on the 2006 Prius. The Prius brochure refers to "4-way adjustable front bucket seats", but it doesn't specify exactly what you can adjust (in particular, I'm wondering if there is a height adjustment). Also, I live in Canada; I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks.
I also live in Canada, own a 2006. If they call it 4 way adjustable, they must include forwards and backwards! The seat back reclines, and fore and aft, that's all.
I do not live in Canada, but I just picked up my new Prius last night. The seats are incredibly basic. Two levers: one in front down low to slide the seat forward and backward; one down low on door side of seat to adjust the angle of the seatback. That's it. However, I am a bit short (5' 4") and a friend is a bit shorter than me and we were out in my car earlier. She asked about the seat adjustments. We played around and in the end felt the seats sit at a good height for us to see out of the vehicle. My husband (5' 10") and father (6' 0") have sat in the passenger seat and rear passenger side seat and had no problems. I rather liked the seats for installing our daughter's child safety seat (car seat) behind the driver. It went in fast and easy and is super snug with no fuss. She obviously approved because she fell asleep on the short drive home from dinner. Yes, I took the opportunity to drive a bit more. LOL It probably is related to what you are used to. I just sold my 1995 Toyota Corolla that had the exact same seat adjustments and nothing beyond it. My seats in the Corolla were a tad more comfortable, but that could just be that they were "broken in". The Prius seats are more firm. I find them more supportive than my Corolla, especially on the back, but a touch hard on the tushie.
Thanks for the replies. I was hoping there was a seat height adjustment because I testdrove a Prius recenty and found that the legroom wasn't quite sufficient. Increasing the seat height would have probably improved the legroom just enough for me to decide to buy it. Oh well ...
The interior of the Prius was designed by a Japanese woman I'm told. That's why the seat height is perfect for someone that's 5'4" or less. If you're 6' you're in trouble though. You have to crouch down to see red lights. you can't see well out of the rearview mirror because of your high angle, and the speedometer numbers are cut off if you have the seat back up all the way. The seats should go back more and have a seat height adjustment. Given all the other great things about the Prius, I think this was a major oversight.

I found the seats a bit uncomfortable at first but they are now broken in and just fine. It would be nice if there was a telescoping steering wheel because I like to lean back when I drive and I find I either have to strech my arms out or sit straight up to reach the steering wheel.
