Well, my mom bought a 2013 Camry Hybrid LE today thanks to me price shopping got it $3000 under MSRP. Classic silver with the light grey interior, so far she is getting 37 mpg without trying and the A/C set to 72 degrees auto without ECO mode. Let her drive my Prius and it wasn't fast enough so the Camry apparently fits the bill a little better although nothing can match her older car with great MPG except maybe a diesel but who wants that? It is replacing her 07 G35 coupe and its dismal 17mpg on 91 octane and 79k miles. Her average monthly fuel costs were $260 so this is going to be a savings in the gas department as well as having a 4 door car with no maintenance problems to worry about. (knock on wood)
great choice! my wife gets 47 in her new hycam, tell mom the gauntlet has been laid down. all the best to mom!
I have two also. most people who own one in the family eventually make the switch. the fact is, there is nothing that can compete with the savings of the hybrid system.
So I took it to work and got 52.1 both ways, same drive I get 56.6 in the Prius. She is averaging 40.1 right now with her heavy foot so all in all not bad and she loves not having to get gas every Sunday.
