The answer depends. Was the replacement on your Prius C or your Bugatti Veyron?

 

Is it original Toyota or Aftermakert, if it is original toyota it will be around $750+ for the windsheild.

 

Also depends on what kind of insurance you have.... but $750 seems a bit much.

 

Here's a post from 2012 with a price of over $1200 for a windshield replacement with Toyota parts.

 

Seems awfully high to me. I believe my state requires no deductible for auto windshield replacement. Did you go through your insurance company?

 

My insurance company does the same.

 

Had my windshield replaced by Safelite AutoGlass who did the work on my driveway in about 30 minutes. They used aftermarket glass - Pilkington EZ-Kool.

No BFD as Toyota does not manufacture their own glass, they stamp their label on the supplier's glass. It had the correct level of tint and that dot matrix between the visors. Lost my aftermarket 8" tint band in the exchange.

Paid the $100 Comprehensice deductible directly to Safelite. No deductible applies if the glass was repairable, but the chip was in the line of vision.

 

Did they replace the molding around the windshield as well?

 

1000 dollars, wow that is high...it better be some diamond glass or something

I once had my CR-V windshield replacement done by safelite and only came out to be 250$

 

The OEM glass has both UV protection as well as sound insulating properties. If OEM, $1,000 does not seem out of line.

 

Yes they did, and Safelite cleaned all the windows and vacuumed the interior.

 

I am in need of a windshield replacement for my 2018 Prius Prime and want to know if anyone has successfully installed aftermarket glass without messing up the function of the sensors mounted behind the windshield.
