I have a 2010 Prius and I live in Bronx, NY. I have been having my car serviced at Westchester Toyota. In mid April, the master cylinder failed at 90,000 miles, and the replacement cost me $2500 plus the cost of renting a car for a week. Yesterday (7/4) the brakes failed again; the ABS light and warning beeper come on as soon as I start the car, and I have no brake pressure. I called Westchester Toyota, since they did the repair in April, and they told me that since more than 1 month had passed, there was no warranty on the work they did on the brakes. I'm bringing the car in to them this morning, but I think that replacing the brake assembly TWICE in less than 90 days is ridiculous. In my mind, either the unit they installed was defective or the work they did on it was defective. I want to get in touch with Toyota regional management to discuss this with them; I do noit feel that I should have to pay for this work to be done twice. Can you give me an address (email preferable) of a contact for the regional manager whose territory includes NYC and Westchester?

You need to check to see if your Prius falls under the recent brake recall also.

Toyota repair parts usually have a 12 month warranty. Your dealer is not treating you as they should and does not deserve your business. Call Toyota Customer support at: 1 (800) 331-4331 to get help.

My guess is that it's not the actuator, but the accumulator. You might have them
look up recall D1H (that's a number one). Here's what I was told, and I was told
    that this came from Toyota:

"The subject vehicles are equipped with brake
pressure accumulators consisting of a metal plunger containing brake fluid encased in a metal housing. The
plunger is designed with metal pleated bellows to allow for motion. Nitrogen gas is sealed between the plunger
and housing. There is a possibility that a fatigue crack could develop in the bellows due to the vertical vibration
of the plunger while driving. If this occurs, nitrogen gas could leak into the brake fluid and gradually cause the
brake pedal stroke to become longer, resulting in decreased hydraulic pressure. Under certain circumstances,
this condition could affect stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash."

I took my car to an independent mechanic who examined the brake fluid and found bubbles (presumably
    nitrogen) in the brake fluid.

I'm pretty sure this is not what Toyota would expect from their dealership... Please call the number above and let us know what happens!!!
