Is it possible to cover the sensor (not sure where its located) to trick it into thinking its night thus resulting in lights on? Kind of like when you enter a tunnel & your driving lights turn on. iPhone ?
Until you forget to turn them on/off. In auto setting, they turn on automatically when dark. iPhone ?
Keep it turned on. It shuts off automatically after 30 sec(depends on how you program your shut off time). When you start the car, it turns on automatically. No need of reminders unless you turned off your headlights. In auto setting, your headlights are off during day time. If you cover the sensor, you will be adjusting the dash lights during day time because it's too dim. At night, it will be too bright if you adjust the dimmer switch to suit your daytime driving.. This will be the same problem when you turn your lights on all the time to serve as DRL's.
I love this forum. Learn something every day. Ok, was not aware that lights turn off by themselves. iPhone ?
I thought the only way to get the headlights to stay on (forever) was to not open the driver's door after turning Prius off. Like when I jump in the passenger side to test something I read here on PC, then power off and exit via passenger door. Some time later I saw the headlight still on and squeezed over to drivers door to open/close it and headlights went off.
My 2012 V3 does not seem to have auto headlights. If I leave the lights on when turning off the engine, I get a warning sound when I open the driver's door. My headlight wand only has 3 positions: off; parking lights; and headlights. None of the drawings in the manual match my wand. Do I have something wrong?
I can only speak to the Prius v Three in the US. By default if you turn the car off, THEN open the driver's side door, it will turn off the headlights in 30 seconds. I had 0 seconds on my Gen 2 and liked that, so I turned off the delay.
