The small well in the door armrest has a removable foam rubber liner at the bottom - a very small detail, but a great one to deal with sticky accumulations or coin rattles.

This is an oldie but it's mostly for the information of new owners and members.

The HSD emblem/logo is actually "H-S-D". The "S" is the blue squiggle down the centre of the logo. It's also why there are two indents at the top and the bottom of the logo - that's the "H".

Just traded a 2011 Prius III for a 2013 IV and noticed the new car has a small storage area in the inside front door grab area. The old one had an open hole (no enclosed bottom). Also, the 2011 had a tray in the console area but the 2013 did not. The salesman allowed me to keep the tray, and it fits in the new one the same as it did on the 2011. I thought it was strange the new one did not have one.

The general shape also matches the outside shape of a "D".

The interior door grab should be the same. As far as I can remember, the Prius never had an open grab handle. It was always enclosed.

No, the map lights are on either side of the shifter LED. The shifter LED just illuminates the shifter, although you could use it as a map light, but that is not its intended purpose.

My VWs had the same little light that just illuminated the shifter.

Well, just noticed two more differences between the 2011 III and 2013 IV. The emergency flasher button changed color and is now red with white triangles and, unless I am mistaken, the ECO button tactile strip is new. The other two buttons there do not have the strip to differentiate the buttons by touch.

Pushing the FM or AM button turns the radio on without pressing the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob first.

One of the displays cycled through with the 'Display' button shows a history of the last n MPG calculations of each trip odometer (I think n is around 6).

The problem with this history graph is that the Y axis is always 0-100, so it's hard to tell the difference between tankfuls if they only vary by a few MPG.

The 2012 Prius has been updated inside (which of course covers the 2013). Other interior changes in addition to the ones you've mentioned include a blue POWER button (instead of black), new centre vent decorative design (vertical silver strips on either side instead of a single silver strip that runs through the adjustment knob and towards the right into the passenger side of the dash), new silver trim around the shifter and EV/ECO/PWR switches (previously black plastic). The armrest also has an exposed 2nd cupholder with chrome trim (previously hidden inside the centre console box). There's also a tray in the 2010/2011 models but removed for 2012+. The buttons on the steering wheel have been slightly rearranged (mostly the soft-touch buttons). The 5" MID also features some "3D" effects and updates to make it appear more modern. (the 2010/2011 looked pretty "ghetto")

I have had my Prius for 2 months and there is a lot of good information here thanks. Here is something that SURPRISED ME about driving a Hybrid. Family & I drove to Gettysburg last weekend during there 150 year birthday. Of course parking was at a premium. We kept circling back to a parking lot near the park because the satellite parking lots were to far away. After about the forth trip in our endless circling, the parking lot attendant waved us over & said "I have been waiting for you to come back. We have green car parking at the visitor center." ( We thought he was joking)
I was then sent past the other attendant & parked at the visitor center. They had a hybrid parking lot closer to the center then the handicap parking lot.
    Is this common?
