OK so I always heard that Cali has 1 Prius to every 5 on the road, thats a big number but with gas prices and traffic out there it makes sense. But here in the Midwest where we luv our Big trucks we have not been so green yet. But I am seeing may more Prius on the road here in Chicago this year more and more as time goes on. It took me a long time to jump on board and I am very happy I did! Yes it's like a game to pull the best MPG on the car that day, to drive all week and put 6 gal in the tank. And I scratch my head when someone is at the pump with their truck running while pumping gas and dropping $125 to fill the truck..................... guess some people have money to piss away oh ya why not grab some cartons of smokes while you are there and make it a even $200 [I hate change in my pocket] Sorry about the rant but I can spend my money on better things and helping people and the planet.
At one point, Mississippi had the fewest Prius per registered cars in the US, one in 1400. It is increasing slightly.
It could be your gas prices you guys are a Buck cheaper most of the time but here in Chicago people are getting used to $4-4.39 crazy even the dealer says in the old days they would have lines out the door to buy a Prius, now I know today we have more choices out there but $4 does not bother us up here [ it does matter to me] maybe if we go to $5 people will freak out more..................................
Prii were pretty rare here in southeast Michigan - except in Ann Arbor. There was one guy with a wrapped Gen II as a company vehicle in my neighborhood when I bought mine in 2011. Plus, our neighbor's daughter visited from East Lansing and had a Prius sedan. Since then, I've spotted 3 more Gen IIIs in driveways - which is pretty good being in the heart of the Domestic 3.
We have 3 Prius on the street and a Volt [works for GE in sales it's a company car] oh and like 3000 Suv's mostly so mom can take the kids to school which I can see it's down the block!!
We Own 2 Pri - The 2500.00 we save a year on gas we use for an extra weeks vacation. We go to Bahamas or Porto Rico In The Winter. I Prefer That to Giving it to EXXON
That's great and all, but the pickup driver might be going to fix someone's house or to construction site.
I did my part. But don't hate on people because they don't drive a fuel efficient vehicle. If they can afford it, more power to 'em. Don't be a "smug"!
Chicago area here, got a prius. Gas savings will for me will be huge for the year and make up for the car payment, plus I get the new car smell.
Wow 1:5 ratio in CA? I see a lot around, but didn't know it was that much! I understand if someone just isn't into the Prius bc of the way it drives, way it looks, etc. Some people don't wanna make that jump bc they don't wanna give up what they like about their own car. I'm comfortable with the Prius and am used to how it drives. However I do miss driving a stick shift and driving spiritedly every now and then. Which is why I plan on buying a cheap MR2 or other roadster that I can fix up and drive on the weekends as a secondary vehicle. I think that's a reasonable compromise.
I see a ton of Prii in Chicago. More and more every day. With gas being so expensive down there, I try to not fill up south of the Border. It's usually $.50 or so cheaper up here in Milwaukee.
Here is the link I spoke of Prii per Capita by State | PriusChat I think the Prius was 1 in 167 in California.
Well, this list is back in late 2010, which I think has changed a lot since. And it's Prius:State population vs. Prius:Other car on road. Regardless, it's hard to believe that ratio is 1:5 here.
Here around the DC area they're quite common. I unconsciously became part of a 5 car Prius Convoy on 495 driving home one night. There was a C, a V, and three liftbacks(including mine) all in the middle lane.
I have a 2012 Prius C Two. I know they sell a hitch for it. How much should the hitch cost to purchase and how much should it cost to install? Also, how come they make a hitch but not a t connect wiring kit? (or do they make a wiring kit yet? The Prius C has no engine temperature gage. So I have no idea in the winter when to turn the heater on. Anyone know of any Prius/Toyota/Prius C clubs/shows in the Chicago, IL area? 4. I see a lot of Prius Taxi cabs in Chicago. If anyone of these questions are in the wrong threat please direct them/me to the correct thread.
