I searched for this but no luck. I noticed on my Prius four there is a row of LED lights above each headlight. Do they come on? I can't seem to get them to turn on at all. The one parking light above the headlight do come on. Thanks.
Tried all those. I start the car and put it in park. Turn on cycle thru the light choices and get out and look...no led lights at all. SCH-I535 ? 2
Both the Prius Five and the PHV Advanced come with them, so it should be a matter of getting part numbers to replace the headlamp assembly and wiring harness. (if needed) I would look for differences in the wiring of your Four and a Five first.
Yes. Only some models actually have LEDs. The others have "jewels", dummy plastic things. So if they don't light you have the jewels. BTW, their function is to look cool, not to give you more light. So if cool is your thing, go ahead and spend the extra $600 to get them.
We're all guilty of something similar. It's additive, exicting, contagious, stimulating, and expensive. It's called modding
Yeah, those aren't actually LEDs. They just look like it. You could always bake the headlights, pull the lenses and drill out those dimples to install LEDs...
They look good as is. I'll keep the "faux" LEDs without the extra effort or expense. Especially the "bake" procedure. Prius factory used LED assemblies run $600 each used on eBay without the electronics.
Thanks everyone. I will leave as is. Main concern was was something broke...but the working leds do look cool. SCH-I535 ? 2
I wonder why the Five and PIPA do not use a brighter version of the LED eyebrows as DRLs, and dim them at night as parking lights. I think they will look better, and be more effective (due to the height) than the bumper mounted DRLs.
True, but for the non LED headlights, you can bake the housings and add your own LEDs to that spot for less than $10.
