We have a small 1 car garage, and after driving my new 2013 Prius Persona there can be a strange smell in the garage after it sits in there for a bit. It'll go away in a few hours. It honestly smells like weed. Is this intended for a hybrid?
I don't think the dash material is that eco-friendly.... All kidding aside. The smell should go away in about a month. Park the car with the windows open when garaged....
lol no nothing through the vents. Just in our garage space. I'll just wait to see if it goes away. Unless someone thought it was the brakes or what not. But that would be odd since I don't really use the brakes all that much.
unless your e brake is dragging, not sure it would smell like weed, does it freewheel okay when in neutral?
I never put it in neutral, unless it automatically goes to neutral when I just left off the gas. In that case yeah it glides fine... in fact much more than I am use to compared to my jetta that I had before.
To rule out brakes you could hold the back of your hand near each wheel. If you don't feel any radiant heat you could quickly touch a brake disc to gauge its temp. Oh wait,, you have to not have plastic wheel covers to reach the disc with your finger. Do the smell test. Put you nose in a slot on each wheel cover to see if you can smell anything. Or, burn some incense, that's what I did as a youth....
I had an 07 Lincoln MKZ that left an odor in the garage when new. The dealer said it was a coating on the exhaust system and the smell would go away over time. After about 3K miles I could no longer smell anything.
