No, I do not have such a thing. Certainly it is annoying to be at the bottom of the hill at a stop light and have the ICE turn on (even though the display shows no moving arrows from the ICE). And I can watch the MPG number for the trip so far decrease even though I am not moving.

Then again, the overall effect is small. My first fillup got me 723 miles on 8.6 gallons, for 83 mpg. One reason I got the PiP was to use up a backlog of about 9000 kwH stored from our solar panels. This backlog never expires. But the car is barely going to eat into it: at 5kwH a day it will take 5 years!

I'll add that we have very big hills here, e.g., 11100 ft down to 8700 as one comes down from the Eisenhower tunnel. It is interesting to watch the regen there. The battery gauge seems to give about 0.5 miles of capacity for every mile of that descent.

I am glad you mentioned this. The VSC light went on a few times after I got the car. It kinda freaked me out, thinking I bought a lemon. I guess it is normal.

How did you get the manual into your I Pad. I would love to do that, but I did not see any place to download same.

You can get the PDF copy here:

Toyota Prius PHV Owners Manuals | JustGiveMeTheDamnManual.com

Its also on the Toyota Owners' Portal (although separated by sections, last I saw) and its also linked here somewhere in another thread.

When you open it on your iPad, you should see a button in the top right to save the PDF to iBooks (IIRC).

I apologize if this was already mentioned, but I found this out by accident a few weeks ago. While on the on the "5 Min Consumption" display, you can hold down the the Display button and it will switch to 1 min increment for all you OCD people.

Can someone else who has a scan gauge confirm that the PiP does not add charge to the battery during ICE warmup if the vehicle is in EV mode, but does when in HV mode?

The ICE will charge the battery while warming up, regardless of what mode you are in.
