Anyone has experience buying or dealing with Jim Barkley, Asheville, NC dealer? Their website says selling price = $21,277 for most of Prius 2. I remember seeing someone posted about this dealer while ago. Anyone else? Is this truly a great deal or one of those too good to be true?
I have a dealer offering a 2013 Prius 2. With tax, fees, etc (inducing an obnoxious $700 "documentation fee" $21,300. This includes a trade in of a few hundred dollars. They are saying that if they sell it for this they won't honor the toyota 0% financing. I have haggled them down from 5% to 2% on interest. But I have also told them I won't buy without 0% or 1% and they they will have to "work with the numbers" but they can do it. Originally they said I could have 0% but they tack on $1500 to the price. Is this the rock bottom price? Am I getting a good deal? I don't NEED a new car right now....I can wait. Does anyone think that I can do better I wait a few months. I just want the absolute best price. I have done my research there are HUNDREDS of unsold Prius models in my city. This dealer has 2 dozen. One farther away owned by the same company has 60! This is the lowest price I have seen online....but I feel it is a bit of bait and switch with them not honoring toyotas promotion. And the doc fee is unbelievably high (and needs to disappear for me to buy). Am I asking too much? I walked out after the first offer and the dealer has called half a dozen times today to "see how he can earn my business". I can afford to wait for better. Could I get it for $20k in September or November.
I bought a new 11 Prius 2 for 21100 in 11 and I got a very good deal, I know there has been at least one $500 increase in the list price in the last two years. I'm guessing you are at or very near the rock bottom price on that car.
Referencing jimbarkleytoyota dot com, what I like about them is that they indicate up front there are no dealer prep fees and they advertise the cash price, I don't know if they will honor the 0% financing, you'd have to check that out. The 'problem' would be to absorb the cost to get there and drive back. So if you factor that $ cost + your TIME, then if you don't want to incur that cost, tack that on the the price you can get locally, that's IT, that should be your target price!!
Atlanta. I walked on the deal. I told them when they were ready to sell a prius to give me a call...they know my terms. I can wait until end of year if I have to. The prius isn't selling here. I've been watching inventories online for MONTHS. They ain't changing. I'm gonna try and take advantage of that when dealers are most desperate.
I just got home in my new Prius II from Tustin Toyota from the same salesperson. Blizzard Pearl color, for $24,650 out the door. Financed at 0% for 60 months and nothing down. I emailed Toyota of Escondido and they matched the price, but I was already on my way to Tustin. According to the salesperson, limdoug has sent a handful of people to him already and wanted to know how we were finding out about the offers he could make. Once I arrived at the dealership, I was shown the car, did a quick test drive, and started the paperwork. All negotiations had been done earlier, which made the car buying experience better. They did try to sell me on warranties and LoJack, but I declined everything. Total monthly payments are $410 for 60 months. Price of car: $22,499 Document fee: $80 (Thought that was interesting to add) MSRP: $25,615 Out the door: $24,650 After purchasing it for $24,650, another dealership in San Diego quoted on 6/24 $24,006 out the door.
Been negotiating with few dealership for either prius III or C3. Can't decide which model to get, so whichever gives me the best deal, i will go with that model. So far the lowest i could get in bay area is $24,088 for prius III with blizzard pearl color if i want to use the 0% financing promotion or extra -1000 without the 0%. For prius C3, $21,288 with moon roof. Will try to negotiate down lower. If they're willing to sell me prius III for $23,500, or the C3 for lower than $21k, i would pull the trigger. What do you guys think?
Just bought 2 months ago a new 2012 Prius 4 with solar roof and entune MSRP $33,310 paid $29,200 +TTL and $99 lifetime oil changes
First post on PriusChat and probably my last, but felt I should at least add this to the content kitty since I've been consuming so much information from these forums (thanks participants). Bought a Prius in Southern CA on June 23, 2013 (Orange County). 2013 Prius, Gray, Model III (base, no add'l options) MSRP: ~$26,800 Price for Car: $23,250 Out-the-Door: $25,500 (8% CA sales tax + $200 registration fees and other misc fees) Used the 0% for 60 months financing as well.
Im looking at a pruis 4 with sunroof package ---I live in CT I'm down to a final offer of 30,343 Add 6.35 % for CT tax = 1926 Doc fee 399 Reg is approx 150 32,818 out the door I think it's a good deal ... What do u think?
it's a 2013 it sounds good based on most dealers in Chicago sell the Prius for sticker or 500 off, I bought a new 2012 prius 4 w/solar roof pkg got $4k off and I thought that was good but a new 2013 and your getting $3k off even better Yes $$$700 is crazy more like $130
Mind if I ask which dealer that was? Best I'm hearing at the moment is Bill Kidd, up in Timonium, who's offering $24,500 out the door, but for the Prius II. Many thanks.
