Make sure that any parts to Canada go by US mail only. Carriers such as UPS and FedEx charge a hefty "customs fee" for deliveries to Canada - this is on top of any duty and sales tax which is due.
It's not the duty that's the problem - it's the excessive fees that UPS and FedEx charge to "clear customs" on any value of shipment over $20. According to the link I gave above, for a $35 shipment UPS would charge a $7 fee, but at just $40 shipment value the fee jumps up to $19.45.
