Republicans, please just sit and watch if interested; let Democrats and independents do their thing. Gen. Clark is included because a member requested it. I'm including Al Gore because there's an emerging buzz recently, based largely on his speeches in connection with MoveOn.org
Two folks "wrote-in", but didn't tell us for whom. Remember, in our PriusWorld election, the Dem will be running against either McCain or Rice.
write in: Peter DeFazio DeFazio is a Congressman from Oregon, from the conservative center of the state, who's a smart liberal. So smart he'd never run for President.
Yeah, Warner built himself a huge reputation as a good manager and concensus builder. But is he someone who can steer his way through Capital Hill or a shrewd enough diplomat to play ball with the likes of Iran's Ahmadinejad or Koreas' Kims?
I had a pre-poll thread up for a month and a half, listing the candidates I thought were appropriate, explaining why I didn't include Obama (too green for the country yet) and asking for further inclusions. The only response was for Gen. Clark. OK, I'm easy. Howard Dean, my personal favorite also, committed not to run again in the process of becoming Chair of the Party
If there's no more interest in this, I'll ditch it rather than have any kind of run-off, e.g., Wesley Clark vs. Edwards. (Clever way to kick it back up, huh?)
