Alpine INE-Z928HD installed. 8" screen! This install isn't for the weak of heart, it's a challenging fit. Side trim pieces are custom made. Alpine mic installed above Alpine USB and audio jack installed into Toyota housing -- looks 100% OEM 'most' steering controls work (need to play with that some more, phone controls are not quite right) Thank you to Safe 'n Sound of Woodland Hills for the install help and custom work. I'm running the factory speakers off this for now -- it sounds pretty good considering. Parametric EQ is really good. Love the re-connect button for Pandora, along with a whole bunch of other features.
Thanks! Lower console trim was cut to fit, upper trim was ok and not touched. Curved side pieces were custom made.
How did you install the Alpine USB and AUX ports into the Toyota jack? And are you using the ASWC/ASWC-1 for the steering wheel controls?
They Dremeled out the stock ports and installed the Alpine ports. Looks OEM from the outside after being re-installed. I'm not sure about the steering wheels controls. I can find out what kit was used. All of them work except for the initiate phone call button.
They probably used a metra ASWC. If you manually program it instead of going for the auto detect you can get that phone call button to work. (Ive been a professional installer for the last 15 years.)
So if I contact metra will they have the program sequence for the Prius c? I did the auto detect when I installed pioneer avic 940 BT and everything works except the call and hang up buttons on the steering wheel? They change my preset stations if pushed.
To fix that (phone call buttons) problem you have to get access to the ASWC. There is a documented fix in the manual, essentially something like resetting the unit, waiting roughly 20 seconds until the light turns a certain color solid, then hit one of the phone buttons within 15 seconds to register it... Had to do that on mine and my wife's venza... Chris
Yes I emailed metra yesterday and they said the same thing. I did the reset this morning and it works now!
