Don't know if this has been covered yet, but I read an article from Fujitsu-Ten, the company that makes the ECU computer in the Prius Plugin: http://www.fujitsu-ten.com/business/technicaljournal/pdf/35-2.pdf I was wondering if anyone has had their dealer update the ECU firmware, or even if there are updates available. Maybe that might make the car more efficient or turn the engine on less....
i haven't heard anything. if they make the thing anymore darned efficient, it'll be getting a hundred miles per gallon!
The document is for the prototype version. I doubt much would have changed for the production version. PiP has 3 CPUs where a regular Prius has only 2. That's the only exciting thing I found from it.
I spoke to the service manager at my dealership today, and he said he knows of no updates for the engine computer. Oh well, just a thought.
