    i have never found a proximity sensor that works well.

    If I would install something like this, several things would most certainly happen:
    * the police would stop me and fine me, because one is not allowed such extra lights on a car over here in NL
    * all the neighbourhood kids would constantly trigger this until the battery was empty... :)
