I still can't believe you're getting 4.6L/100km in Alberta lol. That block heater really must do wonders. Btw, how'd you get 38 litres in the tank? I've pumped 36.306 litres max and that was in August. Total Mileage: 23344.7 Tank Mileage: 620.9km MFD Avg: 4.9L/100km Calc'd Avg: 5.18L/100km Fuel Filled: 32.168L Price per litre: 86.4¢
It's been kinda warm again lately. The block heater hasn't been used at all this year! The average started at 3.8L/100km up to the first 100 km (did a nice long trip around the city for some errands). Then it slowly crept up to 4.3/4.4 through to the 500 km mark, and rose quickly to 4.5/4.6 after that when the temperature dropped for the latter part of the tank. I was hoping for a 4.5 at the end, but won't argue with a 4.6. I went about 90 km past the start of the blinking bar on the gas gauge this time. That probably emptied the tank out enough for 38 L. It actually had me worried because I haven't gone that far past the blinking light before, but I just couldn't find any gas stations! The most I've ever gotten in the tank was 39 L during the middle of summer. I stop filling when the gas pump clicks off on its own, so it shouldn't be from over-filling.

3.8L/100km? <sigh> that's what Vancouver hills do to your mileage. I'm at 4.6L/100km now but not even at 100km into this new tank. Farthest I've gone is 35km after the start of the blinking light.
Yup. Got 3.8 again this afternoon! Can't wait 'til summer rolls around so I can actually keep these numbers. B)
Tank #3 (2/15/06): Tank miles: 397 Total miles: 1038 MFD mpg: 47.8 Gallons filled: 8.503 Price per gallon: $2.559 Calculated mpg: 45.5 Lifetime calculated mpg: 43.4 This tank was much better than the first two, which were both below 43. One possible reason for that is that I hadn't checked my tire pressure until the end of the second tank, and when I did, I found that all of them were a little underinflated and one had a slow leak. I've since had the leaky tire repaired, and now I'm keeping them at 38/36.
Wow. I don't have the guts yet to run my bladder that low. 1st tank for Feb. 411 miles at 49.8 mpg Current tank - 226 miles at 53.6 mpg last two days have been in the 40's/50's and has really helped looking forward to Spring...
ok...just got gas, was at zero % on CANVIEW for about 2 miles when i filled up. didnt top off (as usual) still got 10.507 gallons...508.1 miles both records for winter time tanks.... im happy
My car has 4,300 miles on the odometer and am already getting 49 mpg without trying too hard. Hopefully when it's really broken in, I'll get 50 easily.
that is good under any circumstances. but without your general location posted, cant say if you are doing good (at 49 mpg that is as uncomplimentary as it gets) or great.
