I can't get the NAV unit to read a jpg off a USB stick for the startup image. It read the stick for the shutdown image but always says it can't find a correct file (or something to that effect) when I try to load startup images. I set the USB stick up with the folders at the root level as per the manual. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?
Hey there i also have a 2013 prius 4 with solar package and have been attempting to customize the startup image but cannot get it to work. ive been having a hard time with it as well
Search these threads because the answer is here on the message boards since I followed the procedures posted here and modified the bootup and screensaver image. The trick was to ensure the image was at a specific resolution, and was located in a specificly named subdirectory on the USB mounted device. GT-P7310 ? HD
The file system is very particular. You need to create a folder in a USB drive EXACTLY as follows: 'StartupImage' and 'DisplayOffImage', from there, you can place your .jpg file each folder accordingly. Do not use special characters, and keep file name all lower case letters i.e. 'greener.jpg', etc. Hope this helps.
I also have a 13 Four, not IV because it is not a 2010, with Solar and after press TRANSFER, the YES button is 'greyed out'. I reformatted an USB drive to be FAT32. Thoughts?
I just did this on my '15 Monday. I tried several times from home using my Mac to no avail and several different flash drives. I searched these forums for answers and tried at work the next day. I ended up using a brand new flash drive and my PC at work. I resized all photos to less than 800x480, made sure both folders were correct, they are case sensitive, and make sure pics are no larger than 10 MB. Finally worked! A whole lot of work to see a picture of my dogs for 3 seconds.
