This is my latest tank as of 05/31/2013. This should bump me back up a few spots. I guess you are not safe and your chance would be bump out of the top 20 spots if you are under 75mpg. I'm going to pump up my tires to 42psi front and 40psi rear on the next tank and see if i can break into 70's mpg mark.
I make a motion to separate the top 20 for regular hatchbacks and the c's. It's becoming clear that the hatchback guys won't stand a chance the more and more c's get on the road.
Maybe separate them all out so the "V's" can participate too. Top 10 or 20 (depending on participation) for Gen II, V & Top 20 for Gen III, C?
Prius C has the top two and bottom two slots. I'd say keep them mixed for now. If They dominate the top 10, then separate. As for Prius V, it does need its own category.
Just a matter of time IMO. Inevitable. No reason in the world they shouldn't dominate this list within the year.
Prius 3rd gen (XW30) 2010 - 2012 51 mpg-US (4.6 L/100 km) 48 mpg-US (4.9 L/100 km) 178 (111 g/km) 9/7 SULEV II 6.6Prius v (ZVW41) 2012 44 mpg-US (5.3 L/100 km) 40 mpg-US (5.9 L/100 km) 212 (132 g/km) 8/7 LEV-II SULEV 7.8Prius c (NHP10) 2012 53 mpg-US (4.4 L/100 km) 46 mpg-US (5.1 L/100 km) 178 (111 g/km) NA 6.6 Don't know how this affects hypermiling, but Prius c gets 2 more mpgs in the city, but the regular Prius gets 2 more mpg on the highway. I couldn't find the drag coefficients for the two, so I don't know if one has an advantage over the other in this category. The Prius c will be carrying less fuel, but then the regular Prius' tank doesn't have to be completely filled either, although figuring out how much gas is in the tank would require some math and trust.
Hello Folks, Here's my latest tank. My efforts for FE include P&G, DWL, DWB, and generally trying to keep under 65 mph.
Nice job! I really like the stats the Prius c gives you on the dash. Only 3 more 70 mpg hypermilers to go before spot #20 is in the 70s. Toyota seems to improve the Prius with each revision. Sure hope the next revision is a bigger leap than between gen II and gen III, it's killing me to wait so long to get my hands on the next best thing.
rokibler (GenIII) 626.3 @ 67.5mpg / avg. speed 31mph roadpup (GenII) 587 miles @ 67.5mpg nubomb (Prius c) 504 miles @ 66.6mpg / avg. speed 34mph Optical Illusions (Prius c) 574.6 miles @ 66.5mpg / avg. speed 24mph Just a heads up, i'm gunning for you guys. My avg speed of 38 is due to 50 miles interstate (70mpg speed limit) and only 5 miles non highway driving. Last 2 tanks have been in the 64-65 range. I've challenged myself to get 70 on the next tank if the weather remains whats its been in my area (70s for day time highs) gas prices in my area are an outrageous $4.40 right now so I'm givin 'er all shes got.
64 aint gonna cut it. 70 mpg will get you a few days of glory on the top 20. Better aim for 72 for staying power.
LOL i agree!! Especially summer is right around the corner. I bet by the end of this summer, if you arent in the 75 mark you would probably be knock out of the top 20.
I understand that 64 isn't cutting it, thus why i'm personally challenging myself to hit the 70s. I also say we don't count the Prius c either, its curb weight is nearly 600lbs less thats almost 20% less weight (couldn't find gross weight of the c in my browsing) with the proper driving of course its going to get way better mpg we are not comparing apples to apples if we count the prius c IMO
I agree that the v should have it's own list. If the consensus is to separate all models then we can do that too. When I originally created the list I wasn't sure how much participation we would get so I included all models. The current list is not really fair to the Prius v.
I'd like to see the Prius c owners step up and kick our butts off the list. At that point we (the non Prius c people) can complain and moan about getting our own list.
The real MPG God is Hata_Hata@Tokyo with 118.1 mpg in a Gen2! I 'm not even close. If your rules don't limit only PC members, I don't think I can be in the list. Anyway, I need to try even harder and here is my small improvement: Distance = 833.2 miles Refuel volume = 9.416 gallons FE (MFD) = 90.6 mpg FE (Calculated) = 88.5 mpg Avg. Speed = 28.0 mph EV Distance = 538.2 miles Outside Temp. = 84.2 ºF Time of year : 26/5/13 ~ 8/6/13 (14 days) Distance after blinking low-fuel warning light : 150 km (93.2 miles) Vincent
I agree that having a separate record list for Prius V, Prius C, and the Prius liftback would be more fair and inclusive. With respect to generation 1, 2, and 3 of the Prius Liftback - there is a generational difference in MPG performance, too - albeit generation 2 and 3 are very close in MPG performance.
For some time now, I've been waiting for the inevitable. Congratulations! c's rule. This may have spurred me to think about a little run at your record. Hmmmmm.
