I just picked up my Toyota Prius C - really was excited to find this forum as well. For anyone looking at one of these, Toyota is running out great deals on 2012 models that didn't sell. I got a 2012 Four, 5k off sticker price on clearance and another 1k instant rebate from Toyota. Final Price was 19,128. Never Imagined I'd get a fully loaded Prius for 19k! Does'nt seem as though there is alot of difference between the '12 and '13, although they shifted some of the option packages around. First thing I notice about this forum is there don't seem to be many of silver Prius C's running around with modifications. Unfortunately it was this or a Habenero Two, and I had my heart set on a moon roof and heated seats (very cold in winter in Maine). First Obvious upgrade is wheels, I'd like to keep the 15's - was thinking this set, but very open to suggestions Anyway - happy to join the family!
Hey southern Mainer! Ha ha I came from cars with leather seats so I know what you mean! I think summer came and left us already
Great price. I paid $24,xxx.xx a year and two days ago, $5,000 more, so it's like I rented about $400/month to drive my car and it already got 10,000 miles on it.
Yeah - by no means did I want to ruffle any feathers, I actually went to get a 2013 myself. The poor rookie sales guy who did not know anything about the Prius tried his hardest to talk me into a '13, but did not give me any reason why I'd spend another 6 grand for a different paint color.
Logistically, there is no difference. Just a few things like a jumper terminal under the hood (on some models of '13) and a different steering wheel on the 4.
I wish I didn't read about your price... I hate you now. You are no longer welcome on this forum. I kid Congrats on such a great deal and enjoy all your luxury goodies. As for the wheels, why not enjoy the car as it is for the time being. You'll appreciate your mods more later on.
Great deal. Oh yea, lots of us silver guys around here with mods and upgrades. Check out the photo section of this forum. Welcome to our group. Dan
Congrats! Nice car And great price. Surprised too - they were selling every C they could get here. Wait times last year = months. Don't think any '12s were left unsold when the '13s started to show up. YMMV
Really nice deal and you didn't mention the bonus that when you buy a holdover you skip year 1 of Excise Tax so you save 2% tax overall (year 1 2.4%, of MSRP, year 6+ 0.4%). I see a few Prius c around here. Amongst them a habanero commutes in the opposite direction to me and there's a pizza delivery guy who went from a Gen 1 to a c last year.
I did forget - since it was a 2012, they register it as a one year old car. They lady ran it at DMV and excise was only 404 - I thought it was a mistake!!
