Very nice! Glad to see toyota hasn't gone into a coma!
    Looks quite intriguing.
Technology is racing off the map... Just like smartphones, he who is the most innovative captures the attention of the tech saturated public.

Good to see toyota is attempting to get on board.!...

One side of the back of the test car sports a removable vinyl patch for a gas door. On the other side is a removable vinyl patch for a plug. I will assume that these cloaks are custom fashioned for each car they are testing, so the openings would be purposeful. So I'd guess its a 2015 PIP.

They haven't even launched a replacement for the 1NZ engine. There is no 1.5 litre engine of the current "R" series engine. (And the 1NZ has been around since 1998/1999). The current Prius' 1.8 litre (2ZR) engine was launched in 2008 (in the 2009 Corolla/Matrix). It'll be around for the next gen Prius with whatever new engine technology updates (The 2ZR-FXE has VVT-i on the intake for example while the 2ZR-FE has dual VVT-i. Neither employ direct injection technology yet... or better yet, Toyota's direct/port injection setup).

The basic engine structure will be the same I predict but like the 1NZ in the Prius c, it'll be modified to include the latest technology.

So, probably an improved 2ZR-FXE engine. Gen3 Prius is based on the MC platform. Here is a list of vehicles on MC platform. Prius c should be based on MBC platform since Vitz/Yaris is based on it.

Going to C platform would save weight. What is this C platform?

Next Gen Prius should have an open, functional console with the gear shift in the Dash, don't care for those consoles & shifters posted above, especially those shifters mounted at an angle, no place to put phone in these consoles. There is no reason for a non-functional hump between the front or the back seats.

Starting with 2014, Prius will have wireless charging; Wireless charging to be featured in 2014 Toyota Prius! | Toyota of Orlando News

This design of the new Avalon imo is very functional.

They're saying it's a 2015 model. Can't see a lot different due to the body bra, but I love that they appear to have gotten rid of the center instrument cluster. Hope that's for real.

That would really be a shame. The Prius interior would then look just like any other crappy car.

Don't mind having the readouts in front of driver, but looks like the "flying bridge" is going away. Too bad, that's still one of the best features on our 3rd Gen.

I appreciate that you like the flybridge .... but it doesn't mean most people do. From the majority of threads that I've seen - most people won't lose sleep when it goes away.

The saddest part is hate filled idiots in the comments. And the move back towards "traditional" gauges. No way am I buying a new car with that old school scrap.

It looks more like a Ford or something.

I don't care if the dash is traditional or more contemporary, but I want important info in front of me and not off to the side.
