i saw one in my town last night! first PiP i've had, didn't expect it in my town (though 30 miles from Boston, it's a rural town of about 6500 people). i have to confess, i wanted to lean out the window for a high five, the new car giddiness has not yet left me... on a performance note, omg is this an amazing vehicle. i am charging once a day, around 2 am, then driving about 67 miles to work and back. after a week and a half, i'm getting 74 mpg according to Trip B, which hasn't been reset yet. did my first entry in Fuelly yesterday, so in another week or two i should start getting some real world feedback when i do another top off of the tank.
Welcome to the club! Don't forget to check out 'FuelMe', which might work much better than Fuelly, especially if you have a smartphone. Project FuelMe, a Better Fuelly Alternative for Electric Vehicles - Articles - Articles - Home - ChargeNY I know how you feel tho, when I first spotted another PiP, I had to contain myself, especially since the driver was female, and I didn't think my wife would appreciate me honking/waving at other women. Weeks later, another white PiP with a female driver gave me thumbs up tho
I had my first encounter with another PiP last week. We rolled down windows and chatted at a red light. My wife was in the car too and she thought I was weird. She said she won't talk to a stranger just because they have the same handbag.
After nearly 5 months still waiting to see another PIP. Mind you still haven't seen an electric car either in all that time.
I live a couple miles from the Tesla factory in Fremont, CA. I see a PiP almost every time I go out. White seems most popular. Gray is rare. Or it could be I see the same white every time.
Saw anther PIP at Home Depot on Sunday. Of course I struck up a conversation with the owner (yes, my wife commented afterwards- "I knew you were going to go over and talk to him!"). First off- he said he loves the PIP, He said he charges twice a day- only drives about 10-12 mi/day and hardly ever uses any gas. The best part he said was "I have solar power at home- and use that to charge the car"! Now that's someone who gets it!
Not sure- he was an older gent, so maybe not? I go to that Home Depot a lot, if I see him there again I'll mention PC to him...
PIPs, Leafs and Volts are common in my area. I typically see 1 or 2 on the road each day. At work I share a charging statin with two other PIPs and two leafs.
