Hello. I am the proud new owner of a silver 2006 with accessory package #8. Is anyone else out there bothered by the line in the center of the instrument panel on the dash where the two pieces of plastic come together? Is there any way to make it less noticable? Thank you.
Yes, I've noticed the split line in the panel as well, especially when the sun hits it. It's not noticeable at night. I don't think there's any way to conceal it, just get used to it, like a wart on your best friends face! I'm wondering if the 04 and 05 were this way as well. Infidel
The 2005 has the split, but I only notice it if I look for it. What are you looking at the dash for? Keep your eyes on the road!
2004 has the same split. After a few months of owning the car I hadn't noticed it until someone here mentioned it. A few hundred miles after that, I stopped noticing it again.
Last year, I took my new '05 in to the Toyota service department to get that split looked at. They thought that it wasn't supposed to be there and ordered a replacement. They were embarassed when they called me the next week and told me that the parts (plural) were in for my repair and I could bring it in. Well, when I brought it in, they noticed that the dash screen is in two part...with a split in the middle. They cancelled the repair. I guess we are not the only ones who thought it shouldn't be there!
