Picked up a 2013 Blizzard White Persona last night. A big change from my Honda Element and my first non-Honda daily driver in 10+ years. I'm looking forward to learning a whole new way of driving and of course the gas savings. This forum has been a big help thus far and will no doubt continue to be in the future. You instantly doubled your fuel economy. Very nice. Be sure to stick around ask questions. This is my second Toyota but I also come from a history of mostly Hondas. So far the transition has been difficult for me in terms of the auto climate control. It irritates me to no end. I've learned to manage it but prefer the rotary dials and limited buttons from my old Honda and Toyota.
It may even be more than doubled. According to the computer (which I understand is a bit optimistic) I averaged about 54 mpg on my way to work today with more traffic than usual. I was getting about 24-25 in the Element. My commute is a mostly traffic & light free 55 mph highway 24 miles each way. The gas savings will cover half the car payment if that's the case. As to the colors, I believe there are only three available on the Persona. White, black and the exclusive cranberry/purple color. I'll try to remember to get some pics up later if I have time after work.
Mine is up to 10% optimistic. I never thought of fuel economy as savings towards the car payment. In my case it's only 1/5 because I came from a Civic. My insurance went down too, so maybe 1/4 then.
